Toxicology support includes health effects and toxicology research, development
of quantitative toxicity criteria, exposure and risk assessment, sample collection
strategies that consider toxicological and risk implications, development of risk-based
cleanup criteria, litigation support and risk communication.
Signature Science staff understand the toxicological underpinnings of toxicity
criteria issued by Federal and State agencies. We have experience developing
acute inhalation benchmarks, emergency response planning guidelines, and water
quality criteria. We are adept at performing human health risk assessments and/or
risk-based evaluations conducted in support of Resource Conservation Recovery
Act (RCRA) and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability
Act (CERCLA) closures for both commercial and government clients. In addition,
we have developed expert opinions on toxicological issues in support of litigation,
including testifying in contested case hearings and criminal proceedings, and
risk communication services.
