Our Approach
Signature Science's dedicated Design and Fabrication Laboratory provides turnkey support of all hardware applications including design, prototyping, production, training, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities. To ensure the quality of our products, we adhere to corporate quality plan for fabrication efforts.

Our Staff
Our design and fabrication staff are cross-trained in all disciplines of the hardware development process including initial design using 2D/3D computer-aided design (CAD) tools, rapid prototyping and light fabrication with our in-house fused-deposition modeling (FDM) and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment, and the creation of custom software and electronic components. Our experience with every step in the development process allows us to minimize costly redesigns by understanding how design and performance aspects of each step affect final system operation. The design and fabrication staff is supported by in-house experts in a variety of fields, and we work as a team to successfully address the technical aspects of each project.

Specialized Equipment/Facilities
We operate a dedicated Design and Fabrication Laboratory in Austin. Our drive-in, high-bay facility can accommodate vehicles and trailers, and provides a secure indoor work space and storage area. The laboratory is equipped with a FDM 3D printer and CNC mill for rapid prototyping and light machining, electronic assembly/soldering stations, and dedicated office space for the staff. Software in use includes a full design/modeling suite from Autodesk, ESRI products to support GIS tasks, National Instruments LabVIEW for custom automated control/datalogging applications, and other programs to support various microprocessors and circuit board design. Our relationship with  Southwest Research Institute^® (SwRI^®) affords us access to additional fabrication/production equipment and technical expertise as needed to meet project needs.

Applications
Typical product categories include custom environmental air samplers, COTS product integration, sensor networks, custom release mechanisms and/or plume generators, automated mechanical systems, GIS support, and communications.
